In the 1960s, Penny, Darah and Dina Larson lived in an apartment above a storefront on busy Wayne Ave. in Philadelphia’s Germantown section. Beautiful Penny worked as a night nurse at Temple Hospital. Gorgeous Darah was a high-school junior studying to be a hairdresser. Homely Dina was a lonely, forlorn high school freshman. The Larson girls related to men in different ways. Penny wanted a love she didn’t have to share, Darah craved revenge on all males, and Dina needed tender affection. On their paths to fulfillment, all three experienced surprise, disappointment, and betrayal. But they never lost their sense of family.
